The most active of any other crew?

Hello All,

I see that most people voted:
The most active of any other crew.

Did anyone compare with Valery Korzun activities?
I know Valery was a bit before my time, but
I heard from PE2JMR that Valery was also a lot active in
the past (so be aware when you vote!!!).

I spoke this week with Dutch astronaut Andre Kuipers and
it supriced me that he was also aware that McArthur was a lot
active on hamradio.
I hope future astronauts are also aware of Bills hamradio activities
and I hope they trie the DXCC game aswell!

Points for Bill

I was active when Korzun was on board. I would say that Valery was on the radio more often but he was also part of a 3 man crew and had more free time.
Bill has worked Antarctica and Peter Island. I don't think Korzun did that.
Bill has 116 DXCCC (as of this writting) and I don't know that Korzun could pull out 100 from his contact log.
Bill has the record for school contacts.

I'm leaning towards the Most Active.

Whilst many astronauts have

Whilst many astronauts have "worked" the ham radio equipment, it seems Bill McArthur found that "playing" with it is relaxing. Not only did it provide him the crucial link to other humans here on Earth, it provided him an enjoyable challenge to fill his off-work time. Bill's quest for DXCC has taken ARISS to a whole new level for himself and for Hams around the world. I only hope that I will have the opportunity to work him before he returns. Thanks Bill!

Re: 1300 contacts, 107 DXCC

Sure seems like there hasn't been anyone else on Mir, ISS, or shuttle missions as active as Bill has been. He likes to talk to schools and hams, has enjoyed working all the US states, continents, and as many countries as he can in his time up there. Who knows where he will end up when he leaves the ISS. Count me in as a vote for the most active of any crew.
