ISS 09:40 UTC 21-deg pass over Exeter/UK packet digipeater was quiet as most stations working the crossband voice repeater over Europe whilst the Tanusha-2 CubeSat stopped transmitting the greeting messages and not heard today.

Well it looks like VK4LV and myself are the only two Stations in Australia that know about the ISS Repeater because Rod and myself worked again on the pass at 20:33 EST with very good signals back from ISS so we have not heard any other Stations but I have had two Reports from ZL4JL James but James said he couldn't transmit back but I had good signal into ZL would of been nice to have a contact ??

Voice Repeater on ISS

On the pass that just went over (13:53 est) I was able to Work ROD VK4LV and the signal started at 5 x 5 and got to 5x9 plus 60db and we were able to hold the contact for around 5 min. and I was able to hold the repeater over ZL until just before the foot-print had gone ==how good is that we must pass the info onto ZL so hope to make a contact into ZL on the next good pass! MY gear here is Yaesu FT847 antenna for 70cm two 9's at 5 meters above ground and 145 is one 9 Yagi at 8 meters above ground ==hope we are going to see many more time that the repeater is turned back on Please?? VK4EM Merv one happy user of Amateur Radio From ISS THANKYOU !! IS there a QSL for a contact through the ISS Repeater ??????????

145.8 repeater

I heard the SAT greeting around 7:00z (3am local). I fell asleep with the radio on and was woken by N8HM calling CQ on the next pass an hour later. No greeting heard that class at all. .

So the switch appears to have happened sometime in that hour.

Re: CQ ISS REPEATER on 145.800 ?

I heard station calling throughout 07:20 UTC pass over UK mostly between the CubeSat transmissions. Stop/start end stop signal with just noise and no sat greeting messages on following pass 09:00 UTC.

Re: what is ??? repeater on ISS

This is taken from the Amsat-UK site which explains. https://amsat-uk.org/

Two Russian satellites are planned to be activated inside the International Space Station (ISS) Russian Segment as part of a verification test from July 4-8.

The satellites will eventually be deployed by hand from the ISS during a Russian space walk tentatively scheduled for August 17, 2017.

The satellites Tanusha 1 and Tanusha 2 [спутники Тануша 1/2], will be downlinked at 145.800 MHz FM. Transmissions from Tanusha 1 should begin around 18:30 UT on July 4. Transmissions will cease on July 6 from 08:20 till 18:00 UT to allow the satellites to be swapped out. Tanusha 2 will then be activated beginning on July 6 around 18:00 UT and continue until July 8 at 10:30 UT.

The satellites will broadcast greeting messages in Russian, English, Spanish and Chinese. More details will be made available on the Southwest Western State University site at https://www.swsu.ru/

Some stations were able to work through the crossband repeater in between the retransmissions but the crew changed the schedules and switched them off early to save battery life but the TM-D710 was left on in Crossband repeat and groundstations were able to work through 437.050 uplink and 145.800 downlink.

These 2 new CubeSat's are the same as Tomsk-TPU-120 which did the same last year 2016 and is still aboard the ISS and will possibly be deployed by hand on the next Russian EVA.
