The best ISS / Ham Radio ad - ever -

ISS Amateur Radio

I'm sure that what you see in this video looks pretty familiar to many of you because that's exactly what happened to many of us, myself included. Ironically, the link was suggested to me by Maryam 9K2MD, a young girl from Kuwait who got her ham radio license for the sole purpose of talking to Sergey Krikalev (onboard ISS) and eventually succeeded in doing so.

I'm not sure how MTN (an African connectivity company) got the idea for this ad, or whats the story behind it, but I'm sure that this is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen about our hobby.

Thank you MTN!

The best ISS / Ham Radio ad - ever - and Maryam 9K2MD

I still renember the first radio contact of Maryam 9K2MD with cosmonaut Sergey Kirkalev (from her roof in Kaifan Kuwait).
Short time before I have helped Maryam explained a bit how to do, photos of contact are on:

Wishful thinking on someones part

Whatever you mean

It is not wishful thinking. The kid in the video is maybe 13 years old. I did exactly the same thing when I was 16.
Maryam - without any prior radio experience - had her QSO when she was a teenager as well.
