NA1SS (Col. Doug Wheelock) working U.S. stations on 06 NOV 2010 at 2350 UTC

I apologize for the scratchy audio . . . this was an on-the-fly recording while working NA1SS mobile from my truck using a Yaesu FT-857 and a mag mount antenna driving from Seattle to Portland. Col Wheelock briefly touches on ROBONAUT and the delay of Discovery.

Other recorded callsigns: KA7O • Tate • Casper, WY

Talking with astronauts from a vehicle

Alain -

Many thanks sir! And again, thanks fro a great website where we can all share our ISS experiences with each other.

I think it is legal to talk with an astronaut anytime you can make the QSO! HiHi ;-)

From my understanding HAM radio doesn't fall under the same restraint as cell phones. My cell phone is always via Bluetooth hands free operation. My Yaesu VX8-R has the same capability and should be up and running via Bluetooth soon. The FT-857 I think is another story!
