ARISS Information Update by F. Bauer, KA3HDO

ARISS

We are starting to get some direction on what will happen on ISS over the next few months and how this will affect the ARISS program. What I describe to you is very tentative. Things continue to be very dynamic as the Columbia accident investigation unfolds.

ARISS Operations by Frank Bauer, KA3HDO

ARISS

I saw yesterday's e-mail traffic on the SAREX reflector and I thought I would clarify some items.

First, it is good to see that this reflector is still active. For a while there, I only thought that Dave Larsen, Arthur Rowe and I were the only members of this reflector (hi hi).

ISS Active on Voice Yesterday

ISS Amateur Radio

Just received this info from Mario VA2VA:

I worked Don Pettit this morning, Feb 27, at 1009 UTC. This was only the 2nd time I've heard him on the air (last time was Jan 5th) though I am aware that he has been on at least one or two other times making random contacts. No, not as active as previous crews... but that's the way it goes sometimes. Good luck!

Shuttle Columbus

I have been flying since 1939 quite a lot of experience RAF +test+airline+triangular aeroplanes. The quick version is that I interpret a photo over albukirque 1 minute before breakup as left main gear down nose door open.

PCSAT BBS experiment ENDS

Space News

As PCsat is only 36 hours away from re-entering its eclipse season, we must make sure that NO ONE attempts to use the PBBS any more, as it drains the batteries, and once we loose it, then we lose it for the next 2 months or more.
