Video showing ISS fly-over the Netherlands (Europe)

pa3guo – September 23, 2009 – 19:31

http://www.vimeo.com/6657880

This video shows the ISS passing over the Netherlands (Europe) as a bright,
moving star. You hear bursts of digital communication (APRS) and see them decoded on screen.

Featured in the HD movie are the following radio-amateurs:
LA4FPA, G6HMS, IW9FRA, ON7DS, YO8RBY, PA3GUO, OE1CWJ, UA1CAS and SP9TTX.

Enjoy !
Henk, PA3GUO

ps: this video nicely demonstrates APRS as an efficient communication technology

New ISS Fanatic in Washington State

Can anyone recommend a better way for me to see the ISS flyovers? I have a compass and binoculars. I am loving the search and any information would be greatly appreciated.

Third object in orbit with ISS / STS127?

chompchomp – July 25, 2009 – 02:35

No, this is not a UFO sighting, but it is my first post!

I was viewing an ISS pass tonight with a couple friends when we noticed a third (in addition to the ISS / shuttle complex) object pass in precisely the same orbit. I checked my regular tracking site (heavens_above) and saw nothing. Then I noticed that the Russians launched a cargo vessel this morning.

Could I have seen this object pass in orbit? Whatever it was, it was a beautiful sight!

Tracking out of sync in London

lolalapucelana – July 10, 2009 – 14:51

It seems that this website's tracking is approximately 30 minutes more or less behind the Nasa website, I also have a starry night programme that agrees with Nasa. Could whomever keeps this website up to date look into this. I live in London, United Kingdom, is it correct everywhere else? Many thanks, Lolalapucelana

TWISST the ISS on Twitter

pd4u – June 27, 2009 – 03:59

Because the ISS can be viewed very clearly in June/July with the naked eye, a Dutch journalist and a Dutch astronomer have started a service on twitter to let people know when the ISS passes over their location.

Got a visual tonight..

K2TJJ – May 13, 2009 – 01:32

Tonight we went out to the backyard and watched the space station fly over. Nothing heard on the radio. I can't wait until they get things fired up again.

Accurate ISS pass times- who is correct?

mwrobison – March 11, 2009 – 11:54

Hi all,
In trying to determine when the ISS passes over my house, I am noticing a discrepancy between the two sites I normally use to get the pass times; here and Heavens-Above. Below are extracts from both sites; anyone know which is really correct and why one is so far off?

Just saw ISS orbit over Scotland...!!

pmcn500 – January 28, 2009 – 17:15

Pretty new to all this..... so please excuse a newbie !!

Just saw the ISS streaking across the sky at 17:10 (28/01/09) .... very clear skies and easily visible.... much easier to spot than I anticipated and moving much quicker than I expected.....

Have been logging on to known frequencies....but heard nothing yet.... :-(

Will be checking again in another 90 mins to watch it go by again...:-)
