use of twitter to contact ISS

vk6mj – February 20, 2010 – 11:58

Hi all...just a thought but does anyone have access to twitter? Maybe this could be used to place a request to turn on the packet station.

Re: Packet repors in pms status.

Hello All,

Please do not drop your whole long packet text log from
your monitor screen in the pms status reports.
You can do that here in the forum if you want.
Thanks in advance.

vk3pb – December 14, 2009 – 12:07

Hi all

Episode 25 of Amateurlogic, the technology and ham radio videocast has been released. Its free to download at http://www.amateurlogic.com or view at Youtube.

The relevance to this forum is that episode 25 features my efforts to contact the ISS on packet and also briefly mentions the ISS fan club.

RS0ISS-3 digi for pkt contact?

iw0fko – November 27, 2009 – 22:57

Hi!
are many years that I'm not in radio, and I have started my space activity with I.S.S. from few weeks.
I have a question; Is usual in packet mode contact another amateur radio pms via RS0ISS-3 digipeater? I remember that this was possible with the MIR, but now i think is different, I see the port 3 used by APRS.
This my question is just to know the rules on the use of PMS.

IGate problem

AllenDB – November 25, 2009 – 03:13

I use UI-View and have it setup as an IGate. I know the IGate is working as I see entry's on http://www.ariss.net/ that indicate I have gated traffic. However, I have also sent beacons with my APRS info and the ISS has responded to me (I see the return RS0ISS-3*:) but that traffic is not gated through my IGate. It seems I have to rely on others for that. I was just wondering if anyone knew why. Do I have something setup incorrectly? Thanks for any help.
