Help how do i get to the people who run this ship
Hi
If you love film and think you have what it takes to be the next Peter Jackson, James Cameron or David Lynch, or are just handy with the family holiday video then we need your help.
I am writing to ask for help with our entry in the 2010, 48 hour film making competition.
On the weekend of April 16 through to the 18th 2010 my team and I have to write produce shoot and edit a short film. Over 6000 film makers nation wide (New Zealand) set about racing the clock and each other to produce a film.
This is our third attempt at the 48 hours, previously 2004 and 2006 (see below for links to the films) Both films were shot on good old fashioned film 16mm in 2004 and 35mm in 2006 the only team world wide to achieve such a feat.
In 2006 we won best cinematography, Peter Jackson was one of the Judges, This year word has it that both Peter Jackson and Guillermo Del Toro are judging together.
This year we're shooting for the planet and beyond, we're trying to pull a shoot together that includes scenes from across the globe, again never before tried.
All footage music and script need to be produced within the specified 48 hours.
I'm asking for your help. So far I have locked in New Zealand, Sydney Australia, Los Angeles and New York USA, London England, Toronto Canada, Tokyo Japan, Vanuatu Micronesia.
At 7pm on Friday the 16th of April we find out what genre film we have to shoot, we'll let you know what's needed then, don't worry it wont be Ben Herr. All you need to do is shoot a piece to camera a line or a shot of where you are , we'll let you know what we need on the day, we're hoping to shoot on canon 5d cameras if possible but a digital video camera or even a camera phone will be fine.
We're waiting to hear back from Berlin Germany, Base camp on Mt Everest, Scott Base Antarctica and we're shooting for the stars and trying to get something from the International Space Station, hey you never know unless you ask.
On the day well do an international online hook up to explain what we need to shoot (we wont know until the weekend what's needed), all part of the fun.
All questions about the competition can be answered at the competition site but for anything relating directly to our entry please feel free to drop me a line or pick up the phone (just like the old days) All links and contact numbers are below.
If you can't help maybe you know some one who does, pass this on.
