MMSSTV

I would like to set up MMSSTV for reciveing ISS pictures for the next time they do it.
What setting do I use in MMSSTV? I hear RX Mode should be Robot 36 but what else?

I have a IC 746 Pro and a SignaLink USB Sound Card that I use for PSK and RTTY. Will that work?

Thanks

Re: MMSSTV comment for Stacy

Hello Stacy,

Just download the new MMSSTV 1.11G version from the official website so
than you know it contains all the modes (including the new PD160) to
receive ISS SSTV images in the future.
If you install you do not have to adjust settings, MMSSTV reconize
automatic the mode (and switch automatic to).
Maybe the only setting you have to chance/adjust is the type soundcard if
it does not reconize it (test it on 14.230Mhz HF SSTV freq.).

Slant

I guess almost everyone except Cor PD0RKC has "auto slant" turned on. If it wouldn't be for Cor's pics I would not have noticed it, but NA1SS is a bit slanted here: +47Hz (+43ppm) in MMSSTV

Hello Mark,

Thanks for the comment.
I was too busy with other things.
Now I have turned on the auto-slant in MMSSTV.
Hopefully next time I'll get the images a bit more straight.

Congratts on receiving your

Congratts on receiving your first ISS SSTV picture.
You lucky so and so's lol.

My friend and I are in friendly competition between ourselves to see who can be the first to get a contact de the ISS.

I forgot to leave my equipment on last night and I over slept this morning missing the first pass of today over England. :(
So I expect my friend to have received a piccy.

Got everything all set up now though.

Don't forget you can record any audio using Vox Recorder!

The biggest reason I am getting in to ham radio is the ISS.

Good luck everyone.

73 and best wishes, Mike.

Re: Congratts on receiving your

Maybe it is an nice idea to point your video camera at the SSTV software screen to
record live an incomming SSTV image.
I have seen several recordings on youtube (maybe you can upload yours too).

Woo Hoo! Got my first ever

Woo Hoo!

Got my first ever NA1ISS SSTV picture!
Correction, make that two now because they are re-broadcasting the same pic again!

Managed to capture both the image itself and the audio / data stream in wav format using vox recorder :)

Got the first pic as it was directly(ish) overhead.

Well pleased!

I'll have to sort out the pics and audio file and upload it for everyone which I will try and do tonight.
I'm late for an appointment, and even more late now because I hung around deliberately for this pass lol.

Hope everyone got something.
That's made my year :)

73 and best wishes, Mike.

SSTV Activity in comming days!

Currently the Russian cosmonaut(s) send SSTV images from the Space Station for
the MAI-75 experiment.
Probably different SSTV modes will be used these 3 days of activity, and it is recommanded
to use MMSSTV (freeware) software wich support these modes.
Several amateur radio operators have received already some ISS SSTV images, some are shown
on the ARISS SSTV gallery page:
http://www.amsat.org/amsat/ariss/SSTV/
If you have received images please send them via the ARISS SSTV submission page:
http://www.amsat.org/amsat/ariss/SSTV/submit.php
We may not be able to display every image because of quality or duplication .
But we keep them in the archieve for futher investigation.

Good luck!
