Has anyone heard the Packets on 145.825

mikelib123 – December 30, 2009 – 21:01

I have been monitoring the packet frequency 145.825 for a few close passes to home and I did not hear the digi-repeater. Does anyone know if it is turned on?

ISS APRS Activity 20 JAN 2010 - LOS?

KC6VVT – January 20, 2010 – 19:37

Latest pass over USA on 20, Jan, 2010 at 19:00:34 - 19:10:14 UTC - only a couple of stations were heard via ISS and seemed like early loss of ISS FM APRS signal (LOS) about mid pass.

PACKETS HEARD FROM ISS 11-JAN 2010 OVER SPAIN

EA6WQ – January 11, 2010 – 16:53

Hi evryone,

Been monitoring ISS 145.825 for a few weeks without success, but today at 11:19 local time in Mallorca Islan (Spain), i received and decoded
packets from the ISS as follows ;

W3ADO-1>BEACON,SGATE :
T#011,099,089,051,127,214,11111111,0010,1

c w3ado-1
*** CONNECTED to W3ADO-1
Mission is UI digi only. No connections. Tnx.
*** DISCONNECTED

I inmediately checked my Orbitron software, and ISS wasn't over me at that time !! So i guess that they trusted ISS after
the latest keeps they took.

Tomas, EA6WQ in Mallorca-Spain.

Packet

W0JPH – January 17, 2010 – 16:27

It's it up and running.. Thanks. John

PCSAT is W3ADO-1

N5VHO – January 11, 2010 – 18:19

You heard PCsat. ISS and PCsat are both on 145.825. Check the callsign you captured to know which you actually heard.

At 7 Jan. is a ARISS school contact planned, probably the packet will be
switched on after (no garantee).
Crew had a busy period and ham radio has no prior, and not all astronauts
have an intrest in amateur radio (so they do not think about it).

It has been shut down since the last shuttle visit... reason unknown...

Tnx Guys,

Thanks for the response, I will monitor the packet frequency every now and then. The grandkids are all in school so hopefully there is a school sked coming up and they will turn the station on.

Sure has been a long spell without the ISS radios being turned on. John

Perhaps the next station to act as ground station for a school QSO could ask the ISS crew to switch the VHF/UHF repeater ON. How long has it been off now -- eight months?

Mode

N5VHO – January 12, 2010 – 13:27

ISS packet was active just one day ago:
01:05:58:32 : RS0ISS-4]CQ,SGATE,qAo,N6VIG:]ARISS - International Space Station (BBS/APRS on)
01:06:00:32 : RS0ISS-4]CQ,SGATE,qAS,W7XZ-6:]ARISS - International Space Station (BBS/APRS on)
01:06:02:32 : RS0ISS-4]CQ,SGATE,qAS,W7XZ-6:]ARISS - International Space Station (BBS/APRS on)

And again 5 days ago:
05:01:59:00 : RS0ISS-4]CQ,SGATE,qAR,ZS5PMB-4:]ARISS - International Space Station (BBS/APRS on)
05:02:18:59 : RS0ISS-4]CQ,SGATE,qAR,CE2UGO-1:]ARISS - International Space Station (BBS/APRS on)
05:02:21:00 : RS0ISS-4]CQ,SGATE,qAR,CE2UGO-1:]ARISS - International Space Station (BBS/APRS on)
05:02:42:58 : RS0ISS-4]CQ,SGATE,qAo,N6VIG:]ARISS - International Space Station (BBS/APRS on)
05:02:44:58 : RS0ISS-4]CQ,SGATE,qAS,W7XZ-6:]ARISS - International Space Station (BBS/APRS on)
05:03:54:59 : RS0ISS-4]CQ,SGATE,qAR,CE2UGO-1:]ARISS - International Space Station (BBS/APRS on)

It seems to work in packet mode for just a couple of orbits. Trying to determine issue:

The crossband repeater was last active in June 2009 during ARRL Field Day. Requested that Russian team activate it during Christmas period but that did not occur. Not sure when it will be available for activation again.

The Kenwood D700 only runs one mode at a time.

iss packet frequency

n1ncb – March 9, 2010 – 17:09

I know that pcsat is on it and hear it from time to time but have not
heard iss in a while. On monitoring the frequency I have heard telemetry around
7:00am est and later sometime after 8am , I was unable to try to decode it but don't know what satellite it may be from or what it may have been. I receive it better on a mobile antenna on the roof of the house. When i change to the 4 bay antennas the telemetry is gone but the mobile omni seems to receive it better.
I dont think it is iss telemetry but maybe another satellite sending telemetry at 145.825
anyone know what it might be or have any news on iss and the packet system
