IGate problem

I use UI-View and have it setup as an IGate. I know the IGate is working as I see entry's on http://www.ariss.net/ that indicate I have gated traffic. However, I have also sent beacons with my APRS info and the ISS has responded to me (I see the return RS0ISS-3*:) but that traffic is not gated through my IGate. It seems I have to rely on others for that. I was just wondering if anyone knew why. Do I have something setup incorrectly? Thanks for any help.

Messages not gated

I am not sure but if you look in "IGATE.INI" file in UI_View32 folder you may find:

;
;GATE_ALL_RF_TO_INET - By default UI-View32 only gates
;APRS packets from RF to the internet, and it does not
;not gate digipeated copies of packets heard direct.
;If you check this option then -
; 1. Non-APRS frames are gated.
; 2. Digipeated copies of packets heard direct,
; including your own packets, are gated.
;This option is designed to be used when an IGATE is on a
;satellite RF frequency. It is recommended that you do not
;select this option for a normal IGATE.
;
GATE_ALL_RF_TO_INET=False

I haven't tried it myself but you could change the last line to "True", taking into account the recommendation about this option.

If I am on the wrong track, comment would be appreciated.

I may try it myself for the next passes.

Good luck

Re: Igate problem

Hello Brett,

In the past I noticed the same.
Probably the igate his own callsign will not pass (filtered out) to avoid
passing if people testing their own local aprs network and forgot to disconnect a
aprs server (it keeps it clean on findu and other aprs sites).
But it is just a gues.
