SSTV Aug 3 & 4

Another round of MAI-75 experiments are planned for Aug 3 and 4. The VC-H1 unit in auto mode (Robot-36 and transmitting once every 3 minutes) should be operational on 145.800 MHz from approximately 0800-1600 UTC each day. Information on the MAI-75 experiment is available at http://www.energia.ru/eng/iss/researches/education-26.html and updates at http://ariss-sstv.blogspot.com/

SSTV report Aug 4

Even less activity today. Seems the DATA connector on the Kenwood D700 is not getting a good connection to the VC-H1 system. That appears to be the cause of the unmodulated carrier and intermittent transmissions seen from the ISS. The experiment was scheduled to be turned off at 1410 GMT today.

A couple of images were caputure over Europe about 1330 UTC. You can see them at the gallery at http://www.amsat.org/amsat/ariss/SSTV/

School contact tomorrow over Europe and hopefully packet will be active again after that event.

SSTV report Aug 3

Seems the system had some issues today. First were a few images on 145.800 and then a partial followed by numerous reports of carrier only at 3 minute intervals. Late in the day the radio was swithed to 145.825, a few more carriers and then one final partial image before going silent (system was to be deactivated at 1600 UTC).

Hope the experiment has better success tomorrow.
