The amateur radio gear on the ISS is scheduled to be powered off to support docking operations of 29P on Friday, May 16.

Anyone know when it will be back up again. It's now the 20th and like others I set up my radio to try to make contact especially when I find this next pass is going to have some high elevations...
God bless. Mike W1MWB

The radio being turned back on depends on the crew. Some are very mindful and will turn it back on shortly after the event that required it to be powered off. Others don't take notice until the next time the radio is needed for a school contact. In addition the Russians have been doing a lot of troubleshooting on some systems in the Service Module and that also can cause the radio to be powered off for extended periods of time.
