Hi everyone,
ISS again on Radiowaves, exactly on 145825 simplex, real passing above you about 15<>18 minutes after maps said, check it.tks.

and now all together for a nice goal; ISS calling solo rowers on maritime Ch16, for any support in special a first hand meteo data. we are trying it. they are not alone.

quote
Just to inform you about Erden, this person who is now rowing solo today 20071008 at aprx. 11N and 150W destination in Brisbane AUS.
and Ralph, who is actually on Atafu Atoll, see reports on > oceanrowing.com
Why we do this?... only with intention of giving and sending them the Best message of a very good draft of wind of Happiness, Cheer Up, Courage, Spirit, Radio Up-range, Weather Support and Most important; Human Resources.
I wonder if as like many good contacts with children in schools all over the World, also will be possible a Radio contact from ISS to Ralph and Erden.

If affirmative, please say him this: Building and Keeping up Spirit, Aviation Rules!.
Please, I need some coverage!
Thank you! and God Bless to All

ARISS can only facilitate contacts in the HAM-bands (2 m, 70 cm). I am

Hello All,

Did you post your request to the ARISS team? ====>> yes I did, and NASA, but still no response; will you try it again for me?, we will try it all, again?, in my aprs status text says: plscallrowers>onMCh16tks73t.

Does Ralph and Erden have a amateur radio license? ====>> I no sure, but no HF and 144 148 range on board sure. Anyway, I think no necesary Amateur License for this goal; you do not think so?.

Is there any amateur radio equipment in the boats? ====>> I no sure, maybe not.

But, I am sure one thing Ch16 yes, on board, and besides others satcom; Yes, probably not marine equipment on ISS, but, one Space-Craft as ISS must be all Radio-Spectrum Range on-board, but still, I do not give up, as last recurse I wrote NASA.
Thanks Very Much!

73s Alain,

73's Cor,

Mr. Steve Fossett, we continue searching you.

I presume you filled out the application form when you say you contacted ARISS? (see http://www.arrl.org/ARISS/ariss-ap.html )

If they do not have an amateur radio license, then they cannot talk to the ISS. If they have a radio capable of monitoring the ISS then they could listen to a message if everyone knew exactly when and where. Still, it is unlikey that such an undertaking would be done unless the person on the boat were a personal friend of one of the crew.

In the past I saw also a request (on ifc) like written above.
Did you post your request to the ARISS team?
Does Ralph and Erden have a amateur radio license?
Is there any amateur radio equipment in the boats?

73's Cor PD0RKC

Probably not

N5VHO – October 8, 2007 – 19:25

Since the ISS has no communications equipment for Maritime Ch 16, it would be hard for them to send greetings to the rowers.
