School Contact today with Ann Arbor?

VE4NSA – September 17, 2007 – 13:56

What happened with the school contact?

I heard N0EFT on the "downlink" frequency 145.800 calling for NA1SS. The question is how was I able to hear them in Manitoba when my antennas were pointed to the ISS. Was the radio on the ISS in repeater mode?

Will be interesting to hear what happened.

Hope the kids are not too disappointed, they might try again.

Stefan

Your comments were interesting and it provides some insight into what might have happened during my
attempt to contact the ISS. Based on the comments it seems the radio was not configured correctly and
he was on low power.
What was you antenna setup? He was only good readable during the contact for a couple of questions.

I heard NA1SS on 145.825 calling for N0EFT over and over then ISS changed the freq to 145.800 then they got through about 9 questions. They mentioned channel 40. Might have left it on the aprs freq. (I just hope they put it back to 145.825.

LOL changed modes but not frequency

Souds like they changed modes on the d-700 but not frequency at least they caught that before the entire pass was over. I'll keep a ear open today and seeif we can hear packet back on or not. Channel 40? could be one of the memory channels they used to program the radio,

Radio off for Progress undock
