ISS not a satellite

iz6byy – September 15, 2006 – 07:55

Kenneth,

this poll is incomplete. I could not vote since I did not work any amsat entity via ISS since I dont use the ISS as a satellite.

You never made a crossband

N5VHO – September 15, 2006 – 14:12

You never made a crossband repeater contact that was not a crew member? Guess you can still vote NONE and disregard the comment afterwards.

I of course did work some

iz6byy – September 15, 2006 – 15:35

I of course did work some countries via ISS, but I did not get any award for that.
To collect the amsat awards I like to use the amsat satellites. Not the International Space Station.

Awards are by choice

Kenneth I know Amsat helps

iz6byy – September 17, 2006 – 10:04

Kenneth I know Amsat helps funding the ISS hardware.
In my little I contributed personally sending money for the manned space operations to both Amsat-EU and Amsat-US. I am an Amsat-I member and with the help of the users of this website I send money to Amsat from time to time. Last time we collected and sent 300 USD.
As you can see I believe in Amsat and thank the organization for what It does.

Still: I believe the ISS IS NOT AN AMSAT SATELLITE and I dont use it to collect entities.

Is this a Voice award or

kb8pxv – September 14, 2006 – 04:57

Is this a Voice award or does data communications apply if they have been QSL'd?

Voice, Data or a combination

N5VHO – September 14, 2006 – 13:48

Voice, Data or a combination is acceptable since the rules only stipulate a "contact" via a satellite. You can even use multiple satellites.
